Move over pens and paper and make way for BYODs!
Kids are growing up with technology and let’s face it, their ability to adapt to technology is much quicker than yours and mine. Schools are beginning to adopt a bring your own device (BYOD) program to support the curriculum – technology is the way of the future and
the kids are learning young!
With the knowledge that your child will soon need a new device or need to upgrade may be daunting.
What’s more daunting is the cost of repairing your child’s BYOD when it gets damaged, is stolen, or has mysteriously disappeared.
Repairing a device is just as expensive and where do you even begin? How long will it take? Are the parts required even in stock? There are so many questions and if you’re not a tech wiz then sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin.
We’ve got some ideas on how you can help protect your child’s BYOD.
- Get a backpack that has some padding in it and a separate laptop or tablet section
- Get a protective sleeve for the laptop or tablet
- Consider insurance options for the laptop or tablet
- Make sure any water bottle lids are secured and kept in a separate compartment of the bag
With this in mind, you can send their BYOD in to the new school year with a glimmer of hope that there will be no incidents within the first week.
